Sudhan Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Dear all, I have an Audi A5 (2014), few months ago the MMI stopped working suddenly. It powers on but turns off immediately. I took the car to an Audi dealer as my local garages said they don’t have the appropriate tools/software. The dealer quoted me a shocking £2.5k just for audio unit replacement!!! I was looking to buy the parts from eBay and replace the audio unit myself at home but read somewhere that after replacing the unit requires re-programming. Is this correct? Really appreciate any input in the topic please. Thank you
Steve Q Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Yep it'll need programming to the car. I guess the cheaper alternative is an aftermarket upgrade. The prices of the genuine headunits is ridiculous.
