Nick C Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I have a nice 2005 Audi A4 3.0 Cabriolet Auto with 60k miles and in the last couple of weeks I’ve been getting a whining noise from the engine once I’m above 40mph and accelerating. My local garage in Birmingham say it’s the differential (fluids are fine) but it is not a job for them, lack of parts they say. Can anyone help or point me to an independent garage who might help please. regards, Nick
Steve Q Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 There's an Audi specialist in Leicester called Chapman's. I appreciate it's a fair trek for you though.
alanwhy Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Hi Nick I have a 2015 3.0 tri with 40,500 on the clock and I have a whining noise as well. At low speed it is a low pitch noise but gets a higher pitch as I speed up. I was wondering if it was my propshaft center bearing. Does your whine alter at higher speeds or stay the same? My next move is to get the car up with wheels off the ground to see if I can pin point it better
