Karl280 Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 I know I have posted this a while ago but thought maybe someone since has had this problem? start car fine but if I drive quite far or get temp up to normal in the car. when I maybe pop in the garage or go shopping for anywhere from 1 to ten mins when I get back in it turns over and dies until k take the key out a few times then finally turns and starts. if it’s only a quick journey or I allow car to cool down it starts immediately so it’s definitely heat related. Does anyone know if anything on the starter motor can play up once hot? cheers guys

Steve.
Karl280 Posted March 30, 2022 Author Posted March 30, 2022 Hi Steve, I had an earth strap fitted by an auto electrician and he said battery fine . if I don’t start it for a day or two it does do it then too so I’m confused. the Audi guys I use (not main dealer) have been ok with me so far and say it’s a case of process of elimination !!!

I am totally in agreement with the elimination process but the only real way to do it is check everything supplying the starter system including the pedal switch that initiates the starter, they are prone to failure and don't always flag up on a scan. Steve.
