Whilst a number of significant ex-factory LMP1 cars have come up for sale recently, notably the large batch of Peugeot 908s sold via BBM Sport, this is the first time that this writer has seen an ex-factory LMP1 Hybrid on the open market.

The car is a 2015 Audi R18 e-tron quattro, powered by a 4-litre 550bhp V6 TDI paired in its active career with a 268bhp electric motor that drives the front axle.

Audi entered the car into the 4 megajoules class of hybrid output for the 2015 FIA WEC with a car that saw significant aero changes from the previous season, including a lower drag rear end and new sidepods with new radiators to help better cool the engine and hybrid systems.

DSC understands that the car is for sale without a functioning hybrid drive.

The car for sale is chassis 416, raced in three races of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship by Audi Sport Team Joest and driven by Lucas di Grassi, Loïc Duval, and Oliver Jarvis.

The car raced at the 6 Hours of Fuji, 6 Hours of Shanghai, and the 6 Hours of Bahrain where it finished 4th, 4th, and 6th respectively.

The car is being sold via ex Le Mans racer and supercar dealer Joe Macari’s well known showrooms
