Had a fault appear on my 2007 A6 saloon.

Brake light warning on the dash (with that really annoying beep on start up!). However brake lights all fine - eve n had them off to check terminals etc.

How do I reset it to stop it bleeping/flashing the warning...? or does anyone know a solution?

My fog lights always give me a warning, one after the other.

If I turn them on the warning goes away.

I know what the cause is and I could fit resistors to cure it, but it don't bother me that much. It's because I fitted LED's.

You may have a power drop on the light that's causing it.

Try fitting a separate ground wire to that light.

Hello Steve,

You may (in caps) have two brake light bulbs per side - worth a check.
Also check for poor contacts and good earths. Use contact cleaner as necessary.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Funny you should say that - as the two bulbs was the issue. One had failed and so brake light appeared to still work.

Swapped a new bulb in - sorted for a total of £1..!
