GJH0702 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Hi I have just sold my Discovery Sport which was my 5th LandRover. Main problem I had was albeit I do app 12k miles per year my family live 2 miles from me and shops are app 3 miles, my wife has some health challenges so cannot walk far and thus we do a lot of short journeys - which caused OIL dilution - 3 oil changes in 17k miles. Looking at a new Q5 either S line or Sport(depending on ride) would ideally like another diesel for MPG and will need 4x4(Quattro) Welcome any advice / guidance on the running of a diesel and ride comfort. Thank you
Larryadler Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Audi do produce very good cars of excellent build quality. I have a 40TDI which is a very economical motor. 44 mpg overall, but I have seen 60 mpg on long journeys Mine is just approaching 4 years old with 24k on the clock, and I have been very pleased with it overall. I would love to have updated, but unfortunately the franchise dealers are brilliant when your buying your car, and that’s where the customer service ends, and their prices, quite frankly border on obscene. my recommendation, by all means go for the Audi, but find a specialist VAG independent to look after it. I have gone back to Lexus and have P/X mine, and await delivery, and a marque that looks after their customers.. 1
Steve Q Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Check out the various buyers guides on YouTube. Check to see when the Cambelt and water pump were last changed. As well as seeing when the gearbox oil was last changed. As the s tronic gearbox can fail to change gear with degraded oil. Also check tyres as uneven tyre wear can damage the quattro system.
