Hi All,

I'm pretty sure the tracking on my Q5 Quattro needs doing.

The local Audi approved (not Audi dealership) has quoted £87 to do it.

Would you trust a local 'tyre' place to do it, if it was less than £50?  eg, Kwik-Fit, National Tyre Autocentre, Halfords Autocentre, F1 Autocentre.

Thanks,

Joe

Hello Joe,

In my experience, most now have sophisticated equipment - great! Experience and interest to use it properly??  How many times do you hear of people driving away after getting alignment adjusted, and find the steering  wheel is off centre?
Yes, they clamped it in the straight ahead position, but….

The objective is to get it done once and properly. I trust my local   (In caps) ATS tyre outlet, but I wouldn’t take that across the board.

Cheaper can be good, but no more often that expensive not guaranteeing better!
I would be asking about for recommendations of your ‘Audi Approved’ and use them if (in caps) you are led to believe they are good.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hi find a place that uses Hunter for wheel alignment equipment and a good one only charge for the wheels they have to adjust.

I wasted more than half a day at my local F1 centre when they "did" the tracking on my old A4, just because I was already there having tyres fitted.

Never again.
