I have the 2.0 ltr 190 ultra.

From VAG: When the load condition reaches 1.59 ounces (45 grams), service regeneration is no longer possible. Because the danger of destroying the filter is too great with this load, the filter must be replaced.

Automatic(active) regens should happen approx. 483km/300miles

My driving pattern is a 70 miles round trip for work (3 days/week) of A roads, and several 15-20 minute trips of again mostly A roads. We typically use my wife's car at weekend, otherwise I'll do another 60 miles round trip (minimum) drive on A roads.

My driving style to work is either conservative (avg. 57mph to get 76mpg+) or less patient where the economy drops to 64mpg. The shorter runs are less consistent 😃

I only use Esso or Shell fuel with a dose of either Archoil or Millers Eco Max.

The data can be found in VCDS under: 01-Engine > Advanced Measuring Blocks > Look for particuate values in the pop up menu

Hi sorry I am not quite sure of the point of this exercise is it to prove that the cooler and new valve cut the ash/soot loadings.

Nothing more than sharing the data I collected, as I considered it would've been useful to have found a similar log when I was trying to gauge if my values were typical.

Hi I agree with Steve the data is useful from the point of the reduction in figures after the repair, but it was not a slight at you, sorry if you took it that way, even if you had found something like this its only a slim chance it would of been of any use to you as the variables on this subject are immense as the final analysis is driving styles, fuel and distances covered between regenerations, the other thing is static regenerations when stationary don't work very well unless its a forced regeneration as the ECU will stop the process when the minimum acceptable load is reached because of the temperature issues if it goes the whole ten rounds, if it starts a regeneration just before stopping if feasible run it round for another fifteen mins as the higher exhaust gas pressures make for a more thorough job.

Definitely not taken as a slight. If it's useful then great, if not it might as well be removed so not to confuse/mislead anyone.

I wasn't expecting a reduction after the repair, but I'll continue to log this data for a few months and will post for reference.

Good point re driving pattern and style though, I'll add now.

Hi the added information is very useful as it gives the reader the chance to disseminate from the blog which part of the information may be relevant to their particular problem, on the other hand unfortunately most of the readers will be in a state of panic and won't have a clue what it means, but no doubt there will be more than enough readers that the information is invaluable to.
