jdragon Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 My Audi is Daytona grey and there were a couple of things that I didn't like with the overall look; for this topic it was the rear diffuser colour and asymmetric exhaust tailpipe. Ideally I would have fitted a twin exhaust pipe to create the symmetry, but that's not possible without an AdBlue delete which I didn't want to do. So, I decided to have the rear diffuser painted gloss black and the tailpipes too, so to lessen the imbalance. The diffuser was painted professionally at a local body shop. I did the tail pipes myself by first leaving them overnight in a litre of Hydrochloric Acid 35% to remove the chrome plating, washed them with a detergent and brake cleaner, before spraying with a can of Simoniz Gloss Black Engine Enamel. Very pleased with the outcome. 1
MuttyUK Posted June 25 Posted June 25 How did you take them off? Just bought a Quantum Grey A5 Coupe & looking to do the same!

I really do like the balance of the twin exhaust. There are aftermarket diffusers that would take the twin set up that I have on the TDI, but I would need to do something clever with the RHS to create a fake tail pipe as there isn't much room with the AdBlue tank. Anyway, to answer your question, on the picture in my first post, you can see a tab on the pipe laying down, just needs lifting up to clear the pin on the exhaust and a little pull.
jdragon Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 @MuttyUK I do like your wheels......are they 19s? what's the part number?
