james_16v Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Hi all New A6 2007 tdi owner and have had nothing but problems since I bought it a week ago…. Biggest issue is the hesitation/coughing/stalling issue. engine management light came on, read codes with my bluetooth reader (not vagcom) and it gave multiple codes relating to the throttle body. took it off and found the housing (where the electrics and gears are) full of oil. cleaned it out but still the same issue. bought a brand new tb this morning and fitted. Engine management light now out but the problem persists. Code also cleared. car drives ok until warm then misfires and will stall when coming to a stop (sometimes). Always restarts on first turn of key afterwards. booked into my usual audi specialist but he can’t see me until mid September. only thing I can see amiss is a broken wire on the circular connector on the rear of the cylinder head. only other code is for glow plug which could potentially be related. If anybody has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

james_16v Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 Hi Steve Thanks for replying. when I say oil in the throttle body I mean the actual housing where the cogs/gears are. Not entirely sure how engine oil could have gotten in there but it was literally full of oil. anyway new unit installed and same issue. No visible tears or perforations in any hoses that I can see.
