Indy3214 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 I get “ Lane departure warning”, followed immediately by “Main beam assist fault”, then “Audi pre sense currently restricted”. After 10 seconds then get “Audi adaptive light fault” I took the car to a local garage which couldn’t help as they didn’t have an ADAS calibration unit. I then paid £300 to have the calibration done at an ADAS authorised Bosch garage. 2 weeks later the same warnings came back. Can anyone shed light on what is happening?
Magnet Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Simple eliminations first Norman - get the battery checked. Kind regards, Gareth.
Steve Q Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 I agree with Gareth. Get the battery checked and a diagnostic check to see what fault codes flag up
Indy3214 Posted September 12, 2022 Author Posted September 12, 2022 Thanks for the replies. Battery good. Plug in diagnostics flagged up six fault codes. Each one was investigated and sorted. ADAS re-calibration recommended. My car has six radars in total plus camera. I actually witnessed the engineer do the calibration.
Magnet Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 When you say the battery is good - by what test?
Indy3214 Posted September 12, 2022 Author Posted September 12, 2022 Local garage did a quick test. However, because the battery is packed tight in the boot compartment he did say that he had to make assumptions when connecting his meter. He said he really needed to see the numbers on the battery but without dismantling the whole thing he had to input assumptions. He was surprised at the thickness of the cables and asked if the car was a hybrid. I did see 12.48 volts on the screen. If the battery is faulty would this cause the issues that I’m having?
Magnet Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Hello Norman, As with your local garage, I wouldn’t be too sure the test was meaningful, and it really depends on what ‘his meter’ was Anyway, yes, the battery could be the aggravator here, hence the importance of eliminating it as a possibility. Kind regards, Gareth.
GeeWhiz Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 I also have this fault. Was it confirmed as being the battery that was defective. It’s getting more frequent now. Highly annoying.
Magnet Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Hello Germaine, Hopefully we will hear from Norman, but your car is under warranty, so Audi has to sort it. Have you brought this to their attention? Kind regards, Gareth.
GeeWhiz Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Hiya, the crazy thing is the car has been into the garage for the oil change and the car faulted (notification appears on my phone based on the Audi app) so I asked them about it and they said no fault found. I’ll report it officially.
Indy3214 Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 Independent Bosch Adas recalibration centre sent data off to a specialist. They said that I needed a camera software update which could only be done by an authorised dealer. Booked the car in. They did an overall check , which I didn’t ask for and came up with quotes totalling £4200 to rectify everything. Worryingly they said more investigations were needed. Possible foggy camera £290, more software investigation £130 ,camera software update £390. The car has only done 32500 miles!! So £300 to Bosch, £790 to Audi and no guarantee it’s fixed.
