Magnet
Possible partially fractured wire/s in flexible harness from body to tailgate? Kind regards, Gareth.

Hi Gareth, the wiring for the light units runs inside the trim to the rear control unit in the boot and is nowhere near the loom for the tailgate which controls the rear wash/wipe HRW and fog lights on some models. Yep, there is no wiring for the lights running to the boot lid except for number plate lights and reciprocal power cables for the locking mechanism, from 2003 - 2010 they are all the same, please note the power and earth tracks as described. so replacing the unit at the back of the light is the most sensible option.
