Mr A89 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Hello all. First post and it's because I have a problem. Basically had the cars 5 year service and timing belt done on Tuesday. While driving on Wednesday the cars "alternator not charging battery" warning came on and took it back to the garage, only to have confirmed that the alternator need to be replaced. Stupidly, I took the car out to a very close supermarket hoping I could get there and back without any issue. You guessed it, it died. Now I think only have one option? Can I go and take the battery out and give it a full charge then put it back in without any issues? Hoping that I can and then take it back to the garage early next week when the replacement alternator arrives. Thank for any replies.

Hi yes the battery removal is ok and should work fine after, just don't go anywhere else in it until garage day. Steve.
