pav
Recently my car mpg dropped a lot. Havent changed driving style at all. Tyre pressures are as always. It's an audi A4 avant 2.0 diesel 147bhp. I use to get around 48-51mpg on motorway runs and around 30mpg in town. That dropped to about 42mpg on motorway and below 20mpg in town. Also car doesn't seem as responsive as before. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Steve Q
I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Could be an issue with the turbo, dpf or maf sensor but I'm just guessing.

Doesn't happen very often either
Magnet
Hello Pawel, When you say it doesn’t happen very often - what doesn’t happen very often? Kind regards, Gareth.

Hi I meant sometimes car seems fine and normal but other times it is sluggish but mpg remains down compared to what it use to be. Also recently it stalled when setting off up the hill. Didn't even know you could stall automatic.
Magnet
Thanks Pawel, This really will be a guessing game in terms of replies, so if it were mine, I would be searching for a trusted diesel specialist in your area and seeking their advice. I have found diesel specialists are the go to source, rather than ‘ordinary’ garages. You may get some recommendations at your local taxi ranks. Kind regards, Gareth.
