A4 B9 3.0 TDI Metal Sound in Engine

Hey all,

I purchased a A4 3.0 TDI today however, I’m a little suspicious of the noise the engine is making - it is sounding rather like metal on metal and I’m unsure what could be the cause.

 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Was this a private sale or dealer? 

If dealer then you have 30 days for them to rectify it, or refund you.

That ticking is fairly typical of the high pressure fuel injection 

[SQ5Owner]

It would be well worth get checked as it may be a problem with the High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) which can be very costly to fix if it fails.
