Potential new A4 B8 Sline Owner

Hi all,

I'm looking at a high mileage 2009 A4 S line, 2.0 TDi. It has 165k miles on it, so anything i should be concerned about? Has FSH, belts changed 2009, new front N/S drive shaft, new front N/S lower control arm, nice features. Fresh mot.

Very tempting car, just concerned of the mileage, it's a private sale, and Audis reliability is not known to be the best.

They're asking for 3250.

Any advice hugely appreciated! And should I buy it, I look forward to engaging with the forum 😉

Hello Ricardo from the homeland.
Just search for a thread ( within the last two weeks ) dealing with a very similar potential purchase to what you are asking about.
Most of the advice you will need will have already been offered there.
Perhaps you could let us know what you think, and how it pans out for you.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Here goes:- ‘2013 3.0 ltr ……’  poster was Gary W. Different model, but same principles apply.

Make sure all electrical items work and ac.

Has the gearbox been serviced?

Has the quattro system been serviced?

Are the tyres the same brand and tread on each axle as uneven tyre wear or mismatched tyres can damage the quattro system.

I'd also recommend you check out buyers guides on YouTube as they'll help.

high mileage cars can be reliable if looked after. My A6 is on 344k miles, has been owned by my family from new and is over services if anything. I'm a stickler for maintenance though.
