RichPow Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Hi I've an 2016 A4 b9 Avant which I've just purchased Rear bushes look perished..images attached for comments. Has anyone else come across this issue? Is it expensive to fix? How thick should the bushes be? Cheers
jdragon Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 One on mine looks like that. It was mentioned on MOT last year (before o bought it). Wasn't mentioned this year. I have to say, the other side does look significantly more robust. Garage said it's ok. Just for context; I've been going there for years and trust their judgement. I'll take some photos and post for reference.
Magnet Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Can I be excused from thinking these are spring pad seats rather than suspension bushes?
jdragon Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 You can 😉 I think the MOT referred to it as a rear coil spring rubber mount. 1
Magnet Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 That would have been my exact description Jon. Kind regards, Gareth.
jdragon Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Forgot about this. The MOT flagged offside. It's not as bad as I thought. Nearside added for reference.
jdragon Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 @Steve Q nothing to repair for me on this occasion 😀 I added photos for @RichPow to compare with his.
kamkamkamkamkam Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I think they are spring mounts/pads too. Audi sent me a similar image when I last serviced my B9 and the suggested the cost around £750 for both... I haven't done anything with them yet, and I it was a year ago. MOT haven't mentioned anything about them.
dalswinton Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I had the same problem at my last mot, o/s/r was breaking up. I had it replaced by an independent audi garage for £176. in my opinion, audi dealer prices have now become extortionate. 1
dalswinton Posted June 10 Posted June 10 it would appear that it's not all doom & gloom at audi, my brother has a a4 allroad b9 2017, a broken n/s/r spring was found when in for service last week, audi are going to replace it under warranty. he is covered by (audi all in) cost £600. good news indeed.
Magnet Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Thanks Brian, So would the job normally have cost him £600, or did the warranty cost him that amount? Kind regards, Gareth.
dalswinton Posted June 11 Posted June 11 audi quoted him £600. initially, and said it may be covered by the warranty, which it was, so a vast saving. (one happy brother) kind regards Brian.
Pc759 Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Got same problem on my 2016 66k Tdi sline 190 the mounts today are £17.44 each from Audi in stock too but a spring is £117 so will get an upcycled one the parts man couldn’t say if the spring was different between se and s line but will look for an s line one paul
