Hi, my drivers side headlight has a crack in in and needs replacing. Was initially looking at getting a lens cover but have heard mixed reports on whether it can be done and given the price of labour to replace the lens i might be better off sourcing a used light.

My question is the part number for my light is 4G0.941.034.J - is this the only part number that i can replace with or is there some part numbers that i can replace. From my limited understanding, the J reflects the later VINs that were produced.

Thanks for the help!

Yep the letter denotes how up to date the part is. You'll find the light will have to be coded to the car regardless I suspect.

Thanks for the reply Steve Q. If it needs coding would would a light with H instead of J work?

The alternative is to buy the outer casing since the light actually works. Finding someone to remove the broken one and sealing the new one might be troublesome.

Yea I believe it should work. Obviously your light is younger than that ending in H but I couldn't say how much older.
