fishphone Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Definite slow coolant loss 2019 40TDI 48k miles (1/3 litre over 250 miles). No visible signs of an actual leak. Checked oil filler cap, normal. Is this a common issue? Been advised not to put any of the propietory radiator sealant liquids in. Car still under extended warranty, would this be covered please. Any help appreciated
Magnet Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Hello Steve, Common issue? - I would be sure not. Abnormal? -yes. This car should not use anything like that amount of coolant in a year, let alone 250 miles. Simply get this investigated under your extended warranty, without any DIY investigation or fiddling. Warranty company? Could be as simple as a faulty reservoir cap, or anything more serious from there. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth. 1
Steve Q Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 I agree with Gareth, you need to be speaking to the warranty company asap. As Gareth has suggested it could be something as simple as the expansion tank cap not sealing properly. 1

Leo Mazurek Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Steve, I have very similar problem car under extended warranty for life RAMP (Platinum) How long did it took them to find the problem at the garage, how long did you wait to get this fixed? Was it covered under warranty I had to top up my car 0.3l every 300miles
Magnet Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Hello Leo, Welcome and thanks for joining. I think everyone’s experience in the same situations will be different, and likelihood of similarities of the outcome will be rare. If it were mine, I would not be concerned with how long it took a garage in Lincolnshire to source the problem, since it is almost certain to differ from yours. Similar with the time to take action on the outcome. Was it covered under warranty? - although it might have been with the OP’s warranty, it might not be with yours, and vice versa. I would suggest you PM Steve and raise the questions direct with him, since he hasn’t returned to the forum for almost 18 months. Perhaps you could keep us posted on the outcome Leo. Kind regards, Gareth.
Leo Mazurek Posted Wednesday at 03:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:27 PM Message from RAMP Good morning, Leo (this is only positive thing I got from them) Heads up - "The pomp wasn't sized the timing belt didn't snap and the car didn't overheat" Open my eyes and start reading this e mail ... Thanks for your email After looking through your claim i can see that it was declined due to the water pumps cause of failure being reported as seized As you have stated, the water pump is a covered component, cause of failure dependent, in this case the garage stated as you have above that it is seized please be advised that seizure is a listed exclusion in the terms and conditions of your plan - section 9 - see below: 9. EXCLUSIONS - The following are excluded from this Agreement • Miscellaneous Items Air conditioning recharging, ECU reflashes/upgrades, water ingress, exhaust system, auxiliary drive belts, brackets, mountings, tappings, supports, fixings and fastening devices, fuel tank and fuel lines, corrosion, seizure, rubber hoses, metal pipes or plastic pipes and unions, core plugs, bushes, decokes, foreign object damage and air bags. This Platinum Plan does not cover any repairs in the following circumstances: • Any parts which have not actually failed to perform their normal function, including but not limited to timing belts that are replaced as part of another job; Unfortunately, as a result of the above your claim was declined Fixed in Audi garage cost £1418 additional added for Audi health check £140 My recommendation is to Avoid RAMP warranty or if you have any warranty check what's actually covered or what is excluded. Kind regards to all members 1
Leo Mazurek Posted Wednesday at 03:28 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:28 PM love my Audi car and how could I not pay to get it fixed ...

I really don't understand why these worthless deceitful so-called warranties have not been made illegal. Their only purpose is to increase the salesman's salary without any risk of paying a penny to the customer. Learn the lesson Leo, and never buy one again. 2
