cursor-delta0g Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 The warning lamp has just come on - what are the omens with this issue? faulty sensor or something more serious. Will check if this reappears when I start the car up tomorrow. Marty a8 6.0L 2005
Steve Q Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see what fault codes flag up. Could be an issue with a lambda sensor or cats.
cursor-delta0g Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 Cheers for that, will do that. Any recommendations of local Audi specialists in Oxfordshire ? worth getting a code reader too? marty
Steve Q Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Not sure on any local specialists in your area. Yea could be worth you getting a code reader.
cursor-delta0g Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 Any recommendations on code reader?
cursor-delta0g Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 Sensor reset, could be bank 3 being the culprit. Apparently a pig of a location to replace. We will see if reappears. another flag was catalytic but inconclusive with further code information. 🤔 fingers crossed not the latter

Steve.
cursor-delta0g Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 Thank you so much for cataclean recommendation, not used that before. Will research on obd 11.

Hi the mechanic condemned the cat on my neighbours car three years ago and its passed all subsequent MOTs with flying colours just off the back of a bottle of cataclean every year and no lights on dash, the little known thing is a cat will throw a light at about 95% efficiency its the way the software is written. Steve.

cursor-delta0g Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 Is that eleven or two? Just want to make sure as Amazon has both, but identified by “II” , hence version two or eleven.

Steve. Well treated car to cataclean. Waiting for a new obd reader to reset the Ecs to see if it remains off. Fingers crossed 🤞 if it returns then I’m guessing it sensor replacement time. Marty 1

cursor-delta0g Posted March 1, 2023 Author Posted March 1, 2023 Picked up code reader and cleared fault. Will now wait and see if CATACLEAN has a positive effect and/or if ECS warning reappears.
cursor-delta0g Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 Sadly ECS reappeared. This time will make a note of the fault before resetting. electro magnetic handbrake resolved itself without any reset.

Hi Marty sorry to hear its reappeared, might be worth trying another bottle of Cataclean as it obviously did some cleaning and it says on the bottle it might need two goes at it. Steve.

Don’t seem to be able to clear this but I may need to drill in to engine/module 2 to check for faults and clear them if at all possible. Then try a second bottle of cataclean 1

Then try a second bottle of cataclean Hi do you know anyone with VCDS/OBD Eleven as either of those would throw up a much more definitive picture of whats going on, problem with these vehicles is that most generic code readers just give you a code which may well be itself generic, in short it covers a section of the engine and multiple sensors. Steve.
cursor-delta0g Posted March 7, 2023 Author Posted March 7, 2023 Well managed to reset MiL treated the car to a second bottle of cataclean. will see how long it will last before MIL appears. 🤞
