Butcher Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Hello everyone new member. I have an A4 b8.5 and having problems with the mmi got in the car stared up and black screen and controls panel not lighting up. Checked fuses all gd, got a friend to check on diagnostics and won't communicate with mmi. And I am here for any help or steer me in the right direction
Steve Q Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Sounds like the unit is on the blink. Might be worth getting an auto electrican to take a look
Butcher Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 Thanks for the reply Steve, I have tried a electronics store that someone put forward but they don't seem interested, will have to do a bit more digging, I was told to try Audi forums as others may have had the same problem or it could be a common fault. Cheers pal
Steve Q Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 No probs. You could btry a second hand unit as a new unit will be very expensive.
Butcher Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 Yeah I have been looking approx £300 for head unit, approx £85 for controls, not sure about the amp and other stuff in boot. Not to mention the failing DRL'S on headlights replacements £600.00 for second hand. Or £600.00 from Ali express for new style brand new plug and play. Well I will see if any electricians can help
Steve Q Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 The problem with Audi's, regardless how old they get the bills and parts remain expensive
Dansline Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I had a problem with mmi it went blank. So sent it off to be fixed cost £250
Butcher Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 Hi Dansline, what was the issue on yours, I've had a word with a local Audi specialist and he will have to find what component has gone down. As he said if one bit goes down it shuts the whole system down. Then get the bit then have it coded to the car
