Steve.
Steve Q Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 You might be looking £650 ish. That's what I paid for my a6 1
Magnet Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Have you shopped around - main dealers, independents and trusted local garages in your area Andrew? I mention main dealers, since they sometimes have offers on such jobs. If so - personal opinion- avoid the free MOT gimmick! Kind regards, Gareth.
andydale59 Posted March 22, 2023 Author Posted March 22, 2023 thanks for all comments local audi quoting £740 audi Chelmsford 790 could get it done cheaper by local garages but ???

Magnet Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Worth bearing in mind Andrew, this certainly isn’t the job where cost is King. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Just as an aside - a family member had the belt assembly renewed on his non-Audi using a water-pump-included kit from a well respected aftermarket supplier, starting with D. Just had to have the water pump ( and belt, Incase) replaced after 6K miles due to a failing bearing. No, the belt wasn’t overtensioned. I always recommend using a main dealer pump for peace of mind even though dearer in the short term. I respect that opinions on this may vary on this.
andydale59 Posted March 24, 2023 Author Posted March 24, 2023 had various quotes that are not much cheaper. think i will pay for the main dealer for peace of mind 1
