Audi a5 dripping by pillar

Hi

Dripping on drivers side. On roof , near pillar, where rubber trim meets the hard plastic. Only when raining v hard, stationary on driveway.

Drain hole down pillar is draining.  Off side seems fine.  Where roof meets the windscreen seems OK.  

Only happens on drive which slopes down.  Feels like maybe drain hole is overloaded and water backs up, overflowing drain channel in rubber trim. Would have thought it would overflow outside though, and  odd it's not doing it on the other side. So maybe my diagnosis is off.

Next step is to blast air down the drain hole. Other than that, any suggestions?

Been googling.  Quite a few posts on this.  One had this bulletin which describes my issue exactly. I didn't want to be taking things to bits but it looks easy enough to do this one.  Butyl cord ordered.SB-10094366-0699.pdf

Just an update in case anyone else is on the same path. 

I bought some 3mm thick butyl tape and was ready to disassemble the front part of the roof where it joins the windscreen.  Other posts indicate water flows from the roof into the gap where the canvas meets the rigid bit that latches to the top of the windscreen. It then flows down the sides internally and drips out by the pillar.  I think this is exactly right. 

I have not needed to disassemble and use the butyl tape, at least so far.  I cleaned and reproofed the hood, paying extra attention to where the canvas meets the rigid part at the front. No drips as yet. Monsoon conditions this week.  So I will see how we go but it looks like the issue is resolved without major surgery required.
