Continuity of wire from alternator to J644 in Q7

In Audi 2007 Q7 4.2L there is a single wire from the alternator to the energy management control module J644. I have been asked to check for its continuity as part of diagnosing Generator to Interface fault (02254) when I start the car.

On the J644 side the end would be in the connector (pin 8?). Where would the wire be on the alternator side? Would there be an intermediate point too near the J644 module under the driver seat where I could check the continuity using a multimeter with the pin in the J644 connector?
