FirstG Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Hi All, I have the standard setup speakers in my 2011 C6, the sound is OK its clear & crisp but both the 2002 volvo S60 I had many moons ago & the 2006 Saab aero 2.8T I had previously where surprisingly better. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to add a little bit more mid range volume? Without breaking the bank where possible!!! Thanks,Graham
Steve Q Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 First thing I'd do Is check the speaker size then see what type of speakers you want. Pioneer are a good brand. The optional extra sound system on these was Bose.
FirstG Posted April 17, 2023 Author Posted April 17, 2023 Thanks for the info Steve, can the speakers be just changed for a more powerful alternative of the same size? I wasn't sure if it was the amp that determines the loudness & quality of sound. It looks like the 6.5 inch speakers in the doors will most likely make all the difference.
Steve Q Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Now that I'm not sure. You could always get an aftermarket amp fitted. I'd recommend getting an auto electrican to do it as the current amp will be coded to the car
