Jake H Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Hey, I just bought a 2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI CAX engine and there is this knocking sound coming from the engine bay when I accelerate in any gear only when driving, it increases in speed the more I rev. The only other time I hear it is when I engine the clutch, put in 1st gear and hold my bite point, that’s it. I have no idea what it may be, my dad thinks it’s probably something to do with the driveshaft housing but I was just wondering if anybody has any insight to it please. I have a video of the sound and will post the link below:
Steve Q Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 It could be an engine mount, gearbox mount, driveshaft or durl mass flywheel.
Jake H Posted April 23, 2023 Author Posted April 23, 2023 My dad did mention he feels something coming from the right side of the driveshaft housing, do you think that could be the cause maybe?
Steve Q Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Yep could be. I'd recommend getting it into a garage
