A3. 8L, 8P, 8V, 8Y.

Can anyone tell me the differences between the 8L, 8P, 8V, and 8Y. Apparently mine is 8V. but I don't know what the differences are.

Is it just the year? Go to the Audi A3 club page, the years are printed under each heading.

As per picture order. 

1. 8l = MK1 

2. 8p = MK2 till 2012

3. 8v = MK3 from 2013

4. 8y current model.
