CSD
I purchased my brand new GT in March, 2023 and it has 700 miles on it (I bought it with 150 miles). We have been stranded twice (once we were over an hour from home). The car has been to 3 different Audi dealerships for the same repair; it has been in the shop for over 30 days. They estimated time it "might be fixed" is another 2 weeks. I have submitted all the correct forms to Audi and I know some senior Audi corporate folks are looking into this case (director of sales, master Audi engineers, etc.). It is clearly a LEMON but I can't get anyone from Audi to talk to me. The sad part is I've owned 4 Audis in the last 5 years. I also got caught up n the A6 alternator fiasco which is why I "upgraded" to the GT. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Steve Q
I'd recommend you speak to the motoring ombudsman. Also you might be covered under consumer law: Your consumer rights within six months If a product develops a fault within the first six months after purchase, it’s assumed it has been there since the time of purchase. This means it’s up to the retailer to prove it wasn’t there when you bought it. If a repair or replacement has failed, you have the right to reject the goods for a full refund or price reduction. https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/getting-help-and-advice/consumer-rights/consumer-rights-what-you-need-to-know
CSD
I am working on the lemon law aspect. The biggest problem withe LEMON law is that I have to go through Audi. The other option is to hire a lawyer (which has been initiated) and take them to court. As I mentioned, Audi is 100% at fault and the only people who have looked at the cars are master mechanics from the dealerships. It really is an open and shut case but what a hassle!!!!!! If anyone has any other solutions or contacts, I am willing to try anything right now.
Magnet
Hello Chris, I really feel for your plight, and although this is unlikely to be any consolation to you, I think you may be better placed to get some resolution in the States than we are in the U.K. Personally, I cannot suggest any other avenues other than those you are already following. Kind regards, Gareth.
CSD
I am working several paths right now with the attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. As bad as my experience has been, I do not want it to happen to someone else. It seems crazy to jump through so many hoops for something that is so obvious.
Steve Q
As I say I'd recommend you contact the motoring ombudsman. If you can I'd recommend you try and get it assessed by at least one other Audi dealer that's not under the same franchise as tour current one. Or alternatively an independent ev specialist
