Daniel9944 Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 Hi all here with a new query. I was searching through the site but couldn’t really find exact answer to my question so here it goes. Is it possible to install Apple CarPlay in A6 C7 (2013/1)? If yes do I have to buy a new screen which could be swapped with the one in the car or is there another way? It would add a lot of useful features as you all know. Thanks, Daniel
Steve Q Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 I'd recommend you speak to autologics or Audi retrofits as members have used them for retrofits and been happy with the results. I think it would be a case of changing the screen and getting it wired up to the steering wheel controls
Tigger Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Hi @Daniel9944, In your in-car entertainment system: 1 - Press the Menu Button 2 - Push the top-right silver button (around the centre 'selection' dial/button) corresponding to 'Setup MMI' on the screen 3 - Scroll all the way down the list to 'Version Information' and select it 4 - If the 'Software version' starts with 'MHI2' then you have the MIB2 type system (aka MMI 4G) and this can be updated to include Apple CarPlay - If the software version starts with an 'HNav', 'HN+', or 'BNav' then you have one of the older MMI 3G variants that cannot be upgraded to include CarPlay/Android Auto. The only option here, I believe, is a rather expensive refit/retro-fit of a MIB2/MMI4G into your car to enable the functionality. If you do have the MIB2 already then there is a post here to view: Best of luck! Tigger
