How much does my A4 gearbox weigh

Hi does anyone know roughly how much my gearbox weighs on a 2004 Audi A4 1.8t cabrio? I ordered a gearbox for the car off eBay which i was assured would fit but it didnt and the gearbox code was diffetent to mine. My gearbox code is a hfd and the gearbox i need to return is a ftw.  I need to send the ftw gearbox back now but i need to know the weight before arranging a courier. Does anyone know the weight or where i could find out? Thanks.

Very heavy. Around 130kg from looking at similar atdi gearbox weights.

I wouldn’t think that would be great - about the same weight as a 20 stone person! Who is going to lift that with you? Are we really sure it’s that heavy?

Hi i meant great as in thanks for giving me an idea of the weight. It wouldnt surprise me if it actually did weigh that much. It took 2 of us to pick it up and it was quite a big gearbox. Thanks.

Yes, apologies Ian, I understood the ‘great for advice’. I still can’t get me head around Audi building a gearbox weighing 20 stone for this car, but it sounds as if it is at least ‘blinking heavy’.

I think we all realise its very heavy thats for sure. I think its going to be too expensive to send back so might just keep it for now. Thanks.

As I say that's the weight of a S4 gearbox. 

If it weighs heavy enough it needs two people to carry it then you might struggle finding a courier service who will take it.

hi did this gearbox come on a pallet.ask the seller who delivered it if the courier can come and pick it back up.its not your fault if you were assured it would fit.regards stephen

Hi the problem ive got is the seller who assured me the gearbox would fit isnt replying to my messages. Ive had to go through paypal on eBay who say i have to arrange delivery and pay for it before i get my refund. Annoying really.  Good idea if the seller would of responded tho. Thanks.
