Looking in the owners manual it states that I should use VW 507 00 however all the engine oils coming up on Eurocarparts are 5W-30 but VW 504 00 which the manual states is for petrol engine ls…

Have a look at Quantum - Longlife variant - as was/is recommended by VAG. 
I’ve been using it for years.

Have a look on eBay for best prices from reliable sellers.

I’m using Mannol Longlife 7715 5w30 in mine (and my other german car) that said I’m not sure why…both my cars are high mileage and i’m doing oil chnages every 5-6 or so depending how it lands…
