Johnnym Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Hi. Old fashioned guy here I admit. New to Audi I would just like to use a dipstick to check oil level I am not into just a sigh on my screen. I have used one for 50+ years I am quite lonely without one Is there a source ? One known to be accurate Johnny M
Steve Q Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I'd check eBay but some engines different have the comparability
Johnnym Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 Hi Steve, Thanks for the come back Well I have been doing a bit more reading on my latest purchase A5. Its seems you just top up with what amount it tells you to. So i think the dip stick High/Low marks seem as out of date as myself. I have taken the windscreen Plastic cover off LOTs of leaves lots of just black rotten slimy old leaves. The drain of rubber was part blocked off all clean now. But I could only find ONE drain off rubber ? I thank you for your time. Us youngsters need it Johnny M
Steve Q Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 No probs at all. To be fair I'm old school and prefer having a dipstick. I don't have too much trust in technology or computers.
Johnnym Posted July 25, 2023 Author Posted July 25, 2023 Hi Steve I just ordered one After reading all these posts i am beginning to think Buying my first AUDI A5 was maybe a mistake. Time will tell i suppose. Johnny M
Steve Q Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Just think, most people only come onto forums etc when they have a problem. As last Ng as it's been looked after you should be fine. For example my A6 is known for engine problems being the 2.5 V6 TDI. However mine has done 344k before failing. I know the history of the car as it's only been owned by my dad then me.
Johnnym Posted July 29, 2023 Author Posted July 29, 2023 Hi Again Steve As ever helpful I just feel I have to many questions lol Take care Johnny M
