Radio Control Unit repair

On my A4 B8 Avant the MMI stopped working after 150K miles. The VAS garage had a look at it and basically the radio control unit needs replacing at the cost of £2250. Since the car is probably double that value (if even) I cannot justify having it replaced. Are there anyone in the UK who and repair those units? The part number is 4G0 035 061 E.

The cheapest option would be to find a second hand one or upgrade to an aftermarket touchscreen head unit
