Fabio Vieira Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 (edited) Hello everybody I recently bought a 1998 Audi A8 D2 2.5 TDI and wanted to lower the car, at the moment it looks like a jeep, I want a cheap solution. The solution I found was to buy a set of coilovers from an Audi A4 B6, the suspensions seem to be the same but I'm not sure Can anyone here on the forum confirm if they are compatible with the A8 D2? Steve Q Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 No they won't be the same. The a8 weighs a lot more. I often find the cheap option is the worse option. They say buy cheap buy twice. 1
Fabio Vieira Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 Ok, i won't do that then, another options is a kit only the springs but specific for the A8 they say that the front spring lower the car 60mm and 30mm for the rear this is too much or not? I Will Post a photos of my car and you will see how tall he is.
Steve Q Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I've been looking at the bilstein kit b12 kit. Which includes eibach springs and bilstein shocks. It ain't cheep though. Also height wise, if you've got loads of speed humps I wouldn't lower more than 40mm. Also is it worth considering the stock Audi sport suspension?
