Audi Q5 infotainment system upgrade

Hi there everybody just joined the forum so only a beginner. 
I have a question for all, sorry if this has been up before, I’m thinking of upgrading my infotainment system on my Q5 because the basic oem system sucks a bit, I’ve been looking at the 10” or 12” Apple/android touch screen systems p, as any body got any info on them, have you had one fitted or done a DIY with one, I live in Suffolk so finding hard to find anyone around here that has fitted one or a auto tech to fit one for me, any help would be great.

Hi there Giddy, no I’ve not yet managed to do it yet, I’ve just finished fitting a reversing camera to the Q5, so I’m going to wait a bit before moving on to the next stage.

I fitted a 10 inch erisin head unit really impressed with it for around £240 you need an extra cable though if you have the airbag button under the hazard button.You also have the oem audi options screens  and wireless android auto and apple carplay if you get android 12

Thanks for your reply, yours seems Just right, you said you got yours for about £240 can you tell me where you got it from as it seems like a great price for one and yeah mine does have a airbag button just under the hazard switch, did you get the extra cable from the same seller as the head unit.

They sell them on eBay and amazon ordered mine from erisin.co.uk.The cable is the A261 airbag cable I ended up ordering that of erisin worldwide site but sure they on eBay

Thanks for the info, but I’ve now got to check to see if the reversing camera that I’ve just fitted will work with a android/carplay unit before I commit to getting one.

I have an oem reversing camera works perfectly with mine so can't see why yours shouldn't work.I know erisin sell a reversing camera in the options for rear camera there a few options for video types and resolution

thanks for the reply, I got my camera from so I will have to check with them in the new year to see if there’s is compatible with the CarPlay unit.
