Hi all,

Long term VAG lover here but new to this forum - previous cars MK1 Golf 1.6 GTI, MK3 2.0 GTI, MK4 1.8T GTI, A4 B6 Avant 1.9 TDI.

Due to ULEZ, I had to get rid of the A4 and recently become the proud owner of a 2006 A3 8P Sportback Special Edition S-Line 2.0 TFSI Quattro in Phantom Black, remapped to 260 BHP, Cat back Milltek, Ram Air induction, 18" Rotors, RS3 grill etc on 128K miles.

I'm just wondering if any of you A3 Guru's can tell me more about the engine, which according to the Production sticker says is a "BMB"

Any where I look on t'internet says this engine code is a non turbo FSI 150 BHP?

The car is a beast and am enjoying it but can anyone advise if this engine falls into the group with weak piston rings / oil problems etc.

Fuel consumption seems high but then again I have just come from a AWX 1.9 TDI lol.

Cheers 馃憤

The only problematic standard engines I know of in regard to oil/rings were 1.4 litre petrol. I have no idea about modified engines such as yours.
