Hi everyone,

Apologies this is a long one. I'm looking for any help possible with an issue I have with my 2013 Audi A6 2.0D. Recently and completely randomly the car has started throwing up multiple warnings on the dash including; parking brake error, headlight malfunction, stop/start fault, indicator malfunction, the list goes on. On 2 occasions now the instrument cluster has completely died whilst driving. It then takes multiple efforts to turn the engine off and then the same again starting up, sometimes it will keep trying to tick over and then stop. When I do turn it off and lock the car, the radio and dashboard are still on. I got a local audi specialist to look at it and they found multiple error codes but nothing decisive, tested the battery and said the battery health is 73% (so fine apparently). I think I have picked up that it happens when it has been raining?. It often disappears the next day. Has anyone had any experience with this before I send it to audi to be charged huge amounts for trial and error diagnostics. Thanks in advance.

How old is the battery?

A failing battery can throw up all sorts of warnings and electrical gremlins as it fails to provide enough power to all systems.

I'll have to double check, I have had the car about 3 years and haven't changed it, but I'd guess considerably older than that

Is there water in the boot

No I can't see any water in the boot. This evening the same happened again but now I can't get the car started again, it starts and then immediately dies? Time to take it too the garage I think

Had the battery changed on Sunday for this and unfortunately still have the same issues, I have now lost power steering as well. Unless anyone else has any ideas I think I will get it into an auto electrician.

New battery coded to the car?

Alternator output checked?
Kind regards,

Gareth.
