Tom207 Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Hi all, My 2013 A6 Allroad died on the way to Scotland earlier today. I’d just turned off at Scotch Corner and was heading along the A66 when the engine cut out, the glow plug light flashed and I gently coasted to a halt on the side of the dual carriageway! The AA guy said his reader showed it was only getting 5bar of pressure at the fuel rail, not the 255bar it needed. He reckons it may be the high pressure fuel pump. It had started up fine, was a bit rough at idle but got up to speed and temperature without issue. It also cut out the other day after the start stop kicked in at a roundabout. I managed to get it trailered home. A local VAG mechanic came over and his code reader showed that Injector 1 was reading 5.08mg/stroke at idle, and he said 2mg/stroke was the upper limit. I’m hoping to be able to get it to an Audi specialist in North Yorkshire ASAP but where would people recommend I start? The fact that it cut out during driving, and started okay initially, makes me inclined to agree with the AA patrolman - I don’t think a dodgy injector would have caused it to fail whilst driving. Any help would be greatly appreciated - trying to not spend money going down the wrong rabbit hole just before Christmas! Many thanks, Tom
