Patrick P. Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 Hi Guy's, I have problem with Audi A6 C7 2018 Matrix LED Headlights because both get some steam/condensation. My car was off road for 2 month because was in garage and now I have some steam on bottom of both headlight. Do anyone can suggest me any step to stop and prevent condensation/steam? I had same issue with only one light last January and steam has been gone by ite self but this time I have much bigger condensation and I'm worried about discoloration etc. Please helps. Thanks in advance for any help
Magnet Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Hello Patrick, Sorry to hear of your problem. As far as I’m aware, these headlight ‘glasses’ are sealed from new, and those seals (and bulb seals) can deteriorate, and this causes the issue you have. I’m not sure if it’s practical to carryout any permanent repair, but I seriously doubt that you can. Temporary removal:- Get a hair drier on a medium setting and gently ( in caps) warm the lenses until the condensations reduces to an acceptable level. Kind regards, Gareth.
Patrick P. Posted December 15, 2023 Author Posted December 15, 2023 Hi Gareth, Thank you for your advice . I attached photos for you to view how bad is this condensation . Much appreciated.
Magnet Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Thanks Patrick, It does seem to be getting quite a problem with many makes of cars, and include rear lenses as well - all very expensive units to change. Kind regards, Gareth.
