Jepor Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Hi all , This week a humming noise has started in my A6 , it sounds like it's coming from the front, it doesn't really change when steering left or right , it gets louder as I speed up .The tyres are all good , new recently . The problem is my mechanic can't see to it for 3 weeks yet . Question is from the video is it a bearing and will I get away with it for 3 weeks more ? See attached video Movie001.mp4
Magnet Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Hello John, Wheel bearing noises usually alter on left/right steering, as the load on the bearing is increased/ decreased. My hearing is poor, but it doesn’t sound typical of a wheel bearing to me. Kind regards, Gareth.
Jepor Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 Thanks Gareth Any other ideas as like I said the tires are perfect , no cracking sound from cv joint. So any more ideas ? Regards John
