stephenrobins Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Noticed that my sunroof was tilted up and on closer inspection all the windows were down. Car completely soaked as it was raining all night. What happened and how can I avoid this in the future?
Steve Q Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 I'd recommend you get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. A failing battery can cause windows to suddenly drop, but this shouldn't be the case on a 2023 car. The only other thing I can think of is if you've lent on the key but this I feel is more unlikely

stephenrobins Posted December 28, 2023 Author Posted December 28, 2023 My previous topic referred to finding all my windows and sunroof open but I also have a rear passenger window problem where the window does not go up or down properly and I was having to close it by pushing it up manually but during a journey it drops open. So with this problem in mind plus the other problem where I found all windows and sunroof open I phoned the nearest dealer and they gave me the number for Audi Assist. When I called I was given the choice of an AA call out or a call out of a VW/Audi expert engineer. The AA was available within an hour or 3 hours for Audi. I decided to wait for Audi as it wasn't urgent and it felt more like an Audi problem. My car is new and is covered by warranty and is dealer maintained within my monthly lease. When the engineer arrived he set about fixing the window and I asked him what had caused my windows and sunroof to open simultaneously. The answer was simple in that I must have continuously pressed the unlock button on the remote and due to a menu setting this action opens all the windows and the sunroof. The engineer explained that this was a convenience function and I could turn it off permanently in settings which I have now done. I must have pressed the remote in this way by accident as I wasn't aware of this feature. With regard to my window not working he couldn't repair it on this visit as it needs a new motor so he secured it closed and is ordering a motor. We agreed he would call me next week to tell me when the motor will be available and as soon as it is available he will fit it at my home. I have to say that Audi Assist so far appears to be a great service as taking my car to a dealer is very inconvenient and costly taxi wise if I have to leave my car with them. 1
