Does the electronic handbrake on Audis prevent roll back?

Does the electronic handbrake in Audis prevent roll back on a hill? My Audi A4 B9 1.4 Manual does not have the autohold (A) button. However on hills, the electronic handbrake only releases when the power reaches a certain level where I won't rollback.

The auto handbrake in theory should only disengage once the car has sensed you have enough revs to pull off. What you describe is normal
