TheBuell Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) I just bought an 2016 Audi A1 1.4 CoD TFSI hatch back a few weeks ago. Lovely car, but I was astonished to discover that whilst they are all the same size (215/40R17), they are all from different manufacturers! One was Goodyear, one was "Infinity" whatever the *** that is, "Winda" (??), and the other was "Farroad". 😲 Any recommendations for decent tyres I could re-shoe the car with? Many thanks, Alex Edited January 24 by TheBuell
Magnet Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Welcome Alex, and thanks for joining. It appears that apart from the Goodyear, the rest seem to be a cocktail of budget tyres, which you might find have varying grip in wet/ adverse conditions. Recommended brands? I think you are going to have as many different recommendations as you get replies. For what it’s worth, I have generally stuck with Michelin which I have found give me more miles/£1, but I’m sure you will have other recommendations. Kind regards, Gareth.
thatukguy_james Posted January 29 Posted January 29 i just put 4 new hankook on the s1, £489 all in for fitting etc
Magnet Posted January 29 Posted January 29 This where Alex is likely to have as many varying opinions as responses! Family member had a Hankook fitted to his KA a couple of years back. Comparatively rapid tyre wear despite sedate driving. Kind regards, Gareth.
TheBuell Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 (edited) I might go with Continental Contact 6s. Expensive but very good. Thanks to all for the comments. Edited January 29 by TheBuell
