Magnet Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Thanks Terry, Tayna cross the I s and cross the ts . Asking for more information is not a sign that they are unsure, but more a sign that they want to confirm they will have it right. Kind regards, Gareth. 1
Telsown Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Hi Gareth, So, having had their recommendation: We believe that the product you need is the S5 A08 Bosch AGM Car Battery 12V 70Ah Type 096 S5A08 I have reviewed it some more and it sits well with Exide & Varta but the final decision laid with ‘The Battery Geek’. So, in a nutshell, their choice was spot on. Got a 5% discount taboot! Just to give you a heads-up on my current battery, it sits at 12.2v in the driveway. Not enough to give me a guaranteed start everyday. I think it could be the original Varta that came with the vehicle? (8yrs) Maybe?! Good to chat. Terry
Magnet Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Thanks Terry, As you will know, testing a battery with a normal multimeter makes about the same sense as having an ashtray on a motorbike. Guess you will also appreciate that you will need the new battery coded to the car. Kind regards, Gareth.
Telsown Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Hi Gareth, Yes, I am aware of the adaptation and replacement of new battery. But I’m only aware! Or rather I’m thinking…..Be Aware!!! I am/have been swatting up, so to speak. I would like to have a go, never one to shirk my responsibility so to speak. Seriously, though. I would like to go for it once I’ve got it in my head, whether it goes to my brain is another thing. I’m making notes and will have them beside me when I plug the OBDEleven into the car. Battery should be with me around Wednesday but I’ll not go until I’m ready. I mean, how difficult can it be to change a battery. Ha! Ha! Ha! We’ve done loads in our lifetime haven’t we???? I’m hoping for back-up should I need it………!? Speak soon. Terry.
