SQ5 Adaptive Cruise Control Failure

Hi guys - new here. SQ5 2017 model.

Dashboard shows intermittently a fault message saying ACC Unavailable / Distance Warning Unavailable. This happens mostly when it's very cold or very wet. I have a crack on the left side sensor / radar "lens" dome.

I believe this is because the little heating unit inside the dome has failed, and read this on google somewhere. I have had Audi diagnose the fault and they confirm a problem with the left side sensor.

They have quoted me £2,300 for the replacement, and I believe this is wrong. I think they're trying to sell me the control unit as well as the sensor. Can anyone tell me what the components are here, and if I can get a sensor without having to pay the Earth?
