Marshy1987 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Looking for some help or advice on this matter! I’ve recently checked the coolant tank to find a little bit of oil has crept in to the expansion tank? The car runs fine no misfires or heating problems, all oil levels are fine & clean no dash light or warnings? I’ve been told by a diagnosis at audi specialists it’s a suspected oil cooler failing? Anyone else had this issue? As there isn’t much information on the net when it comes to S3 owners with this issue.
Magnet Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Welcome and thanks for joining Grant. AudI specialists diagnosis sounds the most likely suspect. Kind regards, Gareth. 1
Marshy1987 Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 thanks for the reply Guys. The car is currently with my mechanic now, today whilst breaking the engine down & doing the tests in preparation to change the oil cooler he found that the water pump housing had a slight leak so in the process I’ve now purchased a new water pump & housing along with a new thermostat. we will check to rule out anything else more sinister out tomorrow as quite a few forums jump straight to a head gasket problem first. Hopefully it’s just what’s suspected in its diagnosis & fingers crossed we can crack on to change the parts & resolve the issue. 🤞🏽
Jeremy 1981 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Good Afternoon, I was wondering if you got this corrected I am having the exact same problem.
Magnet Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Hello Jeremy, Thanks for joining. I think the first port of call follows the advice already given. Kind regards, Gareth.
