Codex13 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Hello everyone i hope you can help me out! I bought my Audi a4 b9 2016 like a year ago and this is my first car with automatic transmission. Since i bought a car i've noticed that my transmission/car makes a little noise and makes like a little kick when downshifting from second to first gear and usually when its slow decelerating. Also i noticed that when out is really cold like -10 and car hasnt been driven for a few days it starts to shake(when car is in neutral(when car is in d/s its not shaking!) like every 4-5 sec car make a shake, but after i drive like few minutes it stops, but when out is normal temp i dont have this issue.) Also last thing i noticed is that when i change gear from N to D/S it also make a kick. As i checked my service history i can see that oil wasnt replaced once in the gearbox. My car is currently at 124 000km, bought at 115 000km. Please someone give me an advice what should it be, im starting to get crazy because of this, legit ruining driving experience! Regards!
Codex13 Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Thank you for the reply Mr. Jason! You think all this is happening because fluid in the gearbox hasnt been changed?
Codex13 Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 (edited) I will change oil as soon as i can, prolly in a week because mechanics are really bussy nowdays and will update you how it went. Thank you for the help ! Edited February 25 by Codex13
Codex13 Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Saw that already, it will be done by professionals anyways !
Codex13 Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Went to the mechanic and he told me that my clutch is on 60% and this is reason why its happening and he also told me that this is common thing on stronic that theyre dying on like 150-160k km. He showed me some numbers on diagnostic and told me it should be 100 instead of 112 which i have. He said that everything is fine with my transmission expect this clutch which must be replaced in like 30k km. The price for the change is 2500-3000 eur which is absolutely crazy i was shocked. I also asked him can i change oil maybe the kicks will be less he said no it will be even worse if you change oil…. he told me drive like 20-30k km more and sell the car 😞
Codex13 Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 I checked with other mechanics and he said clutch replacement will be 800 eur in total (clutches 550, LuK part and 250 hands) he told me to bring car to him at monday so we will see
Codex13 Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 This is without filter and oil but ill do that too so it all will be around 1k
Vincent Cotroni Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Hello Codex13, I have same car with same gearbox and exactly same symptoms, mine is 2018 and 186.000km Did replacing the clutch helped? It's crazy that car that costs 65.000€ (bought new) start having gearbox issues after 60.000 (when I first noticed kicking and vibrating when stationary)
Codex13 Posted September 14 Author Posted September 14 I still didnt change the clutch im driving like this because its too expensive. One of my friends also bought a4 2016 200k km and he dont have issues with transmission like me his gearbox is working much better. Im not sure did someone already change dual clutch on his car or its just the way how car was driven or maybe because his car have different engine lower hp etc. Anyways i checked on two mechanics one said it will cost 2500-3000 because mechatronic also must be changed and some sensors(he said usually clutch dies because of mechatronic usually around 250k km) and the other one said it will cost 1400 only clutch must be replaced he didnt mention any mechatronic or sensor. The first mechanic i mentioned who said 750 eur thought its dry clutch but its wet one which is much harder to replace. I just gave up on this because its way too little kicking only i can notice that.
