K.R. Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) So the traction light was on for at least 6 months (please don’t judge) and the ABS light was on and off. Failed the MOT, have been told there is an issue with the tyre pressure sensor £25 + labour and this will fix the issue. Sensor changed, another fault appeared - ABS unit module (??) - part number 1K0907375K - and quoted just below £1000 for the part only. Although there is a company in Essex and another Cannock where they do reconditioning of these modules. Anyone had heard of these companies? Did anyone had a similar issue? Edited April 3 by K.R.
Steve Q Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Is it worth considering the abs sensors? As they're cheaper to replace before changing the module 2
K.R. Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 What are the vans sensors please? Sorry, not much knowledge about cars.

cliffcoggin Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Kat. Who or what is telling you that the ABS module is faulty? The dashboard lamp, a proper VAGCOM diagnosis, a cheap code reader, a mechanic, or something else? 2

They have changed the speed sensor, this has taken away the ABS light, but the traction control light still stayed on. After another diagnosis they said the ABS module is faulty 😒

After another diagnosis they said the ABS module is faulty 😒 I suggest you take the car elswhere for a second opinion before spending all that money. Unless the garage is using a professional code reader and knows how to interpret the results it could be leading you on a wild goose chase. The reason is that one fault can generate many unrelated false error codes, so it is essential the "technician" knows how to sort the wheat from the chaff. Even if the garage is convinced the ABS module is faulty I would ask for a guarantee that replacing it will eliminate the problem.
K.R. Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 The OBD scanner didn’t show any errors (probably cleared by the garage), but the light still remained. Everything “small” that could be related has been checked on the car. Module has been taken off and will be shipped tomorrow for reconditioning from Autotronics - delivery, VAT around £230. fingers crossed will be sorted 🤞🏼

Magnet Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Hello Mark, Welcome. Have you got the same problem? Kind regards, Gareth.
Cavz Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Hi Gareth, Yes, very similar issue. Audi A3 Sportback (8PA)1.6 2013. Keep getting ESC Traction Control & ABS lights coming on intermittently and car juddering and sometimes cutting out. Sometimes it just clears itself. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes it just doesn't start. I have OBD Eleven so can get fault codes etc. It is actually my daughters car but she got fed up and bought a new one. Plan is that i have it as it better than mine. Not really looked at it much, just picking up tips from this forum. All i have done to date is changed 1 Wheel Sensor.
