somerskev Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I have used super Unleaded/ Ultimate unleaded petrol before in my car, it has been researched that it is cleaner and offers more MPG and better performance. Has anyone experienced this first hand and would they reccomend using it, or is the difference so small it does not warrant the extra price per litre. Thanks 2
Steve Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 as far as I know it's just got higher octane, that would give better figures as it burns better
somerskev Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 I have started using it, will post any improvements i find
Tech Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 All technical data produced by Audi is when using 98 RON (super unleaded) fuel, thought you might like to know... 1
mark Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 ive used it in the past (when it was cheaper than current prices) and could feel the difference, the engine felt more responsive. I vaguely recall a fifth gear episode where they tested all manner of fuels from supermarkets, leading brands and of course the super unleaded and diesels and optimax etc. Over all conclusion was that the gains were minimal something like 5hp but they also got an increase from a cheap supermarket fuel if i recall correctly.
richa4black Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Before buying my A4 I had a high powered limited edition impreza. The term super unleaded can be quite vague. For maximum performance(not sure about increased mpg) V-Power is a proven 99 ron fuel and Tesco Momentum is also meant to be 99ron. Not 97 like BP Ultimate or Super Unleased from garages. IMO the benefits would only be there on higher power petrol engines
