Market Value for 2001 A4 Sport 3.0L Quattro

Hi Guys,

Just had my car hit from behind with luckily what looks like just cosmetic damage, but I think I'm going have a hard time proving to my insurer the value of this car. I am very worried that if the bodywork repair comes to more than the value of the car I will lose it. Mechanically it is sound. Most estimation sites only put the car at around £500.

Would anybody be able to give me a rough idea of the value of the car? (Excuse the dirt, its been wet and muddy where I live for most of the spring!).

The car has been well maintained, passed MOT in February, and has been looked after in the family for 18 years. It has service history going back all this time and prior to this has not been involved in any accidents.

Downsides are it has 185,640 miles on the clock, and has general wear and tear on the bodywork expected for a car that is 23 years old, including some bubbling on the spoiler and rear offside upper panel.

I appreciate any help, cheers.

Need to know spec and gearbox option etc. I'd recommend finding 3 similar cars from the same year and send them to your insurance company as evidence of what it'll cost you to replace the car with a similar or like for like.

Hi Steve,

Thanks very much for the advice. The car is a 3.0 Quattro Sport with a 6 speed manual gearbox. It has most of the specs listed here https://www.parkers.co.uk/audi/a4/saloon-2000/30-quattro-sport-4d-(6)/specs/ excluding the CD player, which is now after market. The trouble I've been having is that I haven't been able to find any of similar spec for sale, but I'll have another check.

From looking online this spec is very rare.

I'd estimate it's worth between 2-3k.

Hi Steve, all sorted thank you. Got a valuation of and payout of 2k which based on your valuation I was happy with. Unfortunately still classed as uneconomical to repair by my insurance but retained it for 300. Just have to touch up the damage as best I can. Thanks again!

You're welcome glad I could help and glad it'll love to fight another day 🙂
